March 27th was Round 4 of the USRA Desert Series, presented by the Firebirds M/C. Saturday morning I headed out with Russ Webster. It was very cold when we got there, felt like about 20 degrees with the wind blowing and I was not looking forward to racing in cold weather. What an awesome race. Now that’s how I remember the Rhino Rally races from about 10 years ago – fewer roads and more trails. I have nothing exciting to report, just my experiences. Saturday – Race day Greg, Steve, Preston and I drove down on Friday afternoon, grabbed some dinner at the Pizza Factory, hung out at the sign-ups for a while and then headed back to the room around 8:30. I was super pumped about this race- knowing we would have pits in a different spot meant we would be running a lot of my favorite trails down there, and not the same stuff as the last two years. Always nice to run new stuff. Though I haven't been able to get much time on the bike, I have been training really hard to get ready, and I was excited to see if my efforts would pay off.
