National Hare and Hound Round 7
October 3, 2009
Presented by the Sage Riders M/C

Jericho, UT

With his fourth win of the year, Russ Pearson takes home the win at Round 7 of the AMA FMF National Hare and Hound Series in Jericho, UT. It was nearly a repeat of Round 6, with Destry Abbott chasing Russ' dust all day long.

Destry pulled the holeshot through the banners but had to back off as he crested a dune, which allowed Russ to make the pass on a smoother line to the left.

Unfortunately the rains that hit Northern Utah earlier in the week did not have much of an impact on the dust at the race, though the temperature was the low to mid 60's, and rain clouds threatened all day.

At the end of loop 1, Destry was about 6 seconds behind Russ with KTM's David Kamo 2 minutes off the lead.

3. David Kamo - 145

Destry Abbot and David Kamo leave today for the ISDE in Portugal, but will return in time for the final round of the Hare & Hound series, October 25 in Lucerne, CA, presented by the 100's M/C.

That's a pretty tight points race coming into the final round! Destry and Kamo will be in great shape after ISDE, Russ had better train real hard to be ready to fight them off.

While Russ has been riding awesome and consistent he has had a DNF and making sure he finishes 4th might not be easy. Last round in California, he may have more competition than he had up here the last two weeks. Of course that same problem exists for Destry.

I'm thinking Kendall Norman might show as a prep for Baja, and of course there's Dave Pearson possibly getting it together for this race. Kamo for sure will want to keep his #2 plate, if not get #1.

Man, wish I could go watch this one...in a helicopter!

You need to ask Mr. Hales what's up with that video btw.
